In mid-January I had three days of coaching in my own open boat skills - very useful indeed.  That was run by Sean McGrath whom I recommend - www.wildriver.co.uk/. I certainly learned a lot.

At the beginning of December, it was back to the Lake District to attend the BAIML (British Association of International Mountain Leaders) AGM.  This was very good and a great deal less snowy than last year!  I did the new RLSS Water Margin Safety course, levels 1, 2 and 3.

I had four days of open boating in the Lake District at the very end of November when it was VERY windy indeed!  There were a couple of days on Ullswater when it really wasn't terribly comfortable but it was most definitely a learning experience!  I was with some very good people though.

In early November, I did a course to become a REC First Aid trainer.  I've gradually become convinced that it would be useful to be able to offer First Aid training and this was the first step to doing so.  It was a good course, and I feel I learned a lot, some of which is applicable to things other than First Aid.

I had a lovely weekend on the Dart with SSWAC, open canoeing, in early November.
